Registering at time of voting: Persons qualifying as “Resident Electors” who will be applying to register at the time of voting must provide at least two documents verifying the applicant’s identity, with at least one containing the applicant’s signature, such as a Drivers License. If the voter does not have a second piece of identification, a solemn declaration will be accepted as a second piece of identification. The voter must sign a solemn declaration stating their name and residential address.
Eligibility:
Voting as a Resident Elector
You are eligible to vote as a Resident Elector in an RDN Electoral Area if you meet all of the following criteria:
You are 18 years of age or older on general voting day;
You are a Canadian citizen;
You have lived in British Columbia for at least six months immediately before you register to vote;
You have been a resident of an RDN Electoral Area for at least 30 days before voting; and
You are not disqualified by the Local Government Act, or any other Act, or the Courts from voting in a local election.
You do not need to own property to vote as a Resident Elector

Voting as a Non-Resident Property Elector
You are eligible to vote as a non-resident property elector if you are not eligible to register as a Resident Elector, and you meet all of the following criteria:
You are 18 years of age or older on general voting day;
You are a Canadian citizen;
You have lived in British Columbia for at least six months before you register to vote;
You are not disqualified by the Local Government Act, any other Act, or the Courts from voting in a local election;
And, have owned property in the jurisdiction where you intend to vote for at least 30 days before you register to vote.
You have not registered as a non-resident property elector in relation to any other parcel of property in the voting jurisdiction
If there is more than one registered owner on title, you have the written consent of the majority of the other owners authorizing you to be registered as the non-resident property elector. (Only one non-resident property elector is entitled to vote per property)
