That was quick! Who knew so many passengers would ride Gertie in recent weeks?
Scotty Macdonald was the 50,000th passenger who stepped aboard Gertie on route B on the first morning run, April 11th. He then transferred to Gertie on route A to get to work. Scotty wins a monthly bus pass.
Steve Cellik had the most reliable crystal ball, guessing that the 50,000th passenger would board on April 11th, on the mid-day runs rather than in the morning. He wins some gift certificates from local businesses and bus tickets from GERTIE.
Thanks to all of you GERTIE supporters and to the Village Market and the Village Liquour Store.
All proceeds go into the new bus fund, the matching portion for the Infrastructure grant.
