Frequent bus rider Claudia Scacchi was the 10,000 th GERTIE passenger, boarding on April 24th at around 10 AM and heading to the other end of the island. Claudia has received $25 gift certificates from Colleen’s, Village Foods, Woodfire Pizza and Grill and the Midisland Co-op (Thank you all!), and will also receive a monthly bus pass for May.
The GERTIE team is delighted to have passed this milestone only 10 months into the project, and since ridership continues to grow, we expect to top 20,000 before the end of the year. We are grateful to the hundreds of Gabriolans and visitors who use the bus regularly–or just from time to time–for your amazing support and enthusiasm, and we invite the rest of you to hop on board someday soon to enjoy the GERTIE experience!
