GERTIE driver and computer expert John Beatty has created a series of animated maps that show our new routes. You can see the bus driving around on the map, and where it is supposed to be at different points on the schedule. You can also “stop the bus” anywhere you like, and the clock will show what time it should be at that location (plus or minus a few minutes).
Give it a try! The link is: http://gertie.jcbeatty.us/. The schedule is divided into runs (e.g., “earlier morning” for the first run of the day), and there is a separate map for each of the two buses (Route A serves North-South Rd. loop through Silva Bay, and Route B serves various neighbourhoods at the west end of the island.) Click on the the Movie link above the map, and then start the movie by clicking on the arrow in the top-left corner. There are ways to control the speed below the map.
As of noon today (April 27th), not all of the runs are complete, but they will be soon. We want to know how this tool works for you, so your feedback is welcome.
